Gain the tools to succeed!
Unexpressed emotions will never die.
They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways.
-Sigmund Freud
You owe it to yourself to have peace and contentment. Mental health is as important as physical health. If you are disturbed, distressed, or upset, life loses its charm and beauty. Many nice its charm and beauty. Nice things may be happening to you and around you, but you may lose the capacity to enjoy them. No one knows how long one's life is. We cannot add years to our life, but we can certainly add life to our years.
There is no problem that is permanent. There is no adversity that can completely engulf us. As long as there is life, there is hope. It is just that when too many negative things happen to us at the same time, or in quick succession, we lose the capacity to struggle, to overcome, or even to believe that we can overcome.
Similarly, while there are problems that are insurmountable, our capacity to cope with them can definitely be increased. We can choose not to feel distressed. And the only way to do it is to develop the belief that we are not alone in this world. As the old Hindi proverb goes: Jiska koi nahin, uska Bhagwan hota hai (one who has no one to call his own, has God with him). And we know that God does not come down to us in human form. Perhaps that is why He created friends and counselors — to remind us that we are not alone. We just need to stretch out our hand, go across, or dial a number. However disheartening your situation may appear to you, it is still worth giving a chance to someone who is willing to be with you, share your feelings, and hold your hand in your journey through the obstacles of life. Your life is valuable, and as long as there is life, there is hope. Beyond the darkest hour of the night - there is a dawn awaiting you.
